Our mission

Help researchers find candidate papers for biomedical questions and compare references with scholarly records. Review the original evidence before deciding whether a paper supports a claim.

Problems we solve

• Tight deadlines for grants/IRB/protocols. You need defensible citations fast, without combing through dozens of tabs.
• Systematic reviews that require transparency. Keep filters, provenance, and context visible so inclusion/exclusion is auditable.
• Clinicians and students checking references. Inspect source records and available evidence, then assess the original paper and its relevance to your question.

How LitSource works

• Literature discovery: search sources including PubMed, PMC, Crossref, OpenAlex and Semantic Scholar for candidate papers. Coverage, indexing delays and full-text access vary by source; newly published papers may not be immediately available.
• Evidence review: inspect available abstracts or full-text passages with their context and source. A matching record does not prove that a paper supports your claim, and a missing record does not prove fabrication.
• Context for comparison: consider available journal metrics, citation counts and publication dates alongside the study design and original evidence. Metadata can be incomplete; journal metrics do not establish the validity of an individual claim.
• Reference export: download supported citation files and import them into compatible reference managers. Available formats and bulk-export access depend on the page and plan.
