Refund and billing dispute policy for LitSource

Overview

LitSource is a subscription and credit-based academic software service for biomedical literature search, citation verification, and source-linked research workflows.

This policy explains when refunds may be available and how to contact us about billing issues.

Subscriptions

Monthly and yearly Pro subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. If you cancel, your paid access normally remains active until the end of the current billing period.

Subscription payments are generally non-refundable after the billing period has started and paid features or credits have been made available, except where required by law or where we approve a refund for a billing error or service issue.

Trial Plan and one-time purchases

The Trial Plan is a one-time purchase. It does not automatically renew.

Because credits and Pro features are made available immediately, Trial Plan purchases are generally non-refundable after credits or paid features have been used, except where required by law or where we approve a refund for a billing error or service issue.

Eligible refund review cases

Contact us if:

  • you were charged more than once for the same purchase;
  • you were charged after canceling a subscription before renewal;
  • you purchased the wrong plan and have not used the paid credits or paid features;
  • a technical issue on our side prevented access to the paid service for a material period;
  • applicable law gives you a mandatory refund or withdrawal right.

We may ask for your account email, order ID, payment processor receipt, and a short description of the issue.

Non-refundable usage

Refunds are usually not available for:

  • consumed credits;
  • completed searches, citation checks, summaries, exports, or generated PubMed queries;
  • dissatisfaction caused by database coverage limits that are already described in our coverage documentation;
  • failure to cancel a subscription before the renewal date.

How to request a refund

Email support@litsource.net within 14 days of the charge. We review requests case by case and normally respond within 5 business days.

If a refund is approved, it is returned to the original payment method through the payment processor. Processing time depends on the card network, bank, and payment provider.
